'Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read.

One does not love breathing.'

Harper Lee Scout, in To Kill a Mockingbird, pt. 1, ch. 2, pg. 18 (1960).

Introduction

What is a good novel without some memorable quotes.  Harper Lee provides the reader with a multitude of significant quotes that capture the reader's attention and provoke him/her to ponder the significance and/or the importance of each of them.  Each quote evokes a different emotion and the reader is drawn further into the novels pages.

While I was searching for quotes I came across this PDF by C. Williams on Analyzing quotes.  It is a great activity to get your students to understand the significance and importance of a quotation.
